Assigning Theran to the Job

The Job Description and Solution
Theran arrived at Carmel’s home and conducted a thorough investigation of her hot water system. He found that the tempering valve at the water heater was failing due to lack of maintenance. The system itself was 8 years old and had not been serviced before.
After discussing with Carmel, Theran presented her with different options for repair. She decided to go ahead with a major service which included replacing the tempering valve. To ensure proper installation and functioning, Theran isolated the water supply to the system, drained all remaining water and flushed out any debris or sediment present in the tank.
In addition to replacing the tempering valve, Theran also removed two existing sacrificial anodes and replaced them with new ones for better protection against corrosion. He also replaced both temperature and pressure relief valves as they were showing signs of wear and tear over time.
Once all repairs were completed, Theran filled up the tank again and relit it before conducting final tests to ensure everything was working properly.
