Case Study: Solving a Leaking Pipe in Adamstown Heights

The Job Description & Solution
Upon arrival at Terry’s home, Theran investigated the source of the leak and discovered that it was coming from an old cold water pipe connected to the relocated water heater. The pipe had been squished and soldered shut but was no longer holding pressure due to its age.
To further assess the situation, Theran measured the water pressure in Terry’s home and found that it exceeded 500kpa. This high pressure could potentially cause more damage if left unchecked.
Theran presented Terry with different options for repairs and after careful consideration, Terry agreed on having an end cap crimped onto the copper pipe as well as installing a 500kpa pressure regulating valve at the water meter for added protection under warranty.
In order to fix the leaking pipe, Theran successfully cut and crimped an end cap onto it. He then proceeded to adjust pipework for installation of the 500kpa pressure regulating valve before finally reinstating water supply once everything was completed.
