The job at hand was to replace Travis’ existing kitchen mixer with an economy model that came with a 2-year warranty. To start off, Matt isolated the main water supply and drained down the system. Next, he disconnected and decommissioned the old fixture before sourcing and installing the new basin mixer.

However, during the process it was discovered that there were severely seized spindles which made it impossible to service the basin tap as originally planned. Despite attempts to remove them resulting in bent copper breaches, Matt quickly came up with an alternative solution – replacing the fixture with a mixer at a minor additional charge.
