Using advanced techniques, he induced nitrogen into the line and was able to locate the leak at a marked location. It turned out that the leak was concealed on the main branch and could not be detected by eye.

To ensure that this issue does not occur again in the future, we recommended a partial rerun of the domestic cold water supply line with a 10-year warranty. This involved isolating the main water supply, draining down the system, digging a trench from where previous leaks were located to the water meter, lining it with sand and laying new pipes with pressure regulating devices. All fittings used complied with current national and municipal regulations. Once completed, we performed pressure testing to ensure no more leaks existed before backfilling any unsuitable debris removed from trench.

We also informed Geoffrey about Gold Coast City Council’s water rebate program which can help him save money on future bills if he experiences any further leaks.
