Case Study: Solving a Blocked Stormwater Drain for Elizabeth in Charlestown

Job Description & Solution
Max arrived at Elizabeth’s property and conducted a thorough inspection of the stormwater drain. Upon visual inspection of the drains on the left side of the house, he discovered an obstruction beneath the pool fence that prevented his CCTV camera from proceeding further.
To determine the best course of action, Max consulted with Elizabeth and explained his findings. They agreed that an exploratory dig would be necessary to expose that section of the pipe and perform an extensive jet blast to clear any blockages.
The next day, Max returned to continue with the work as approved by Elizabeth. After cutting open the pipe, he found significant dirt blockages and tree roots originating from downstream. This indicated a break in the stormwater pipe further along which was causing all sorts of problems for Elizabeth’s drainage system.
In order to fix this issue permanently, Max recommended replacing that section of damaged pipe with new PVC piping. He also suggested regular maintenance checks to prevent similar problems from occurring in future.
