Case Study: Solving a Gas Leak for Henry in Fletcher
Henry, a resident of the suburb of Fletcher (2287), recently contacted Reactive Plumbing & Electrical after experiencing a gas leak in his home. He found us through our Newcastle Magnet ad and was impressed by our reputation as top-notch service providers.

Upon receiving Henry’s call, we immediately assigned our experienced technician, Theran, to handle the job. With years of experience and extensive knowledge in gas plumbing, we knew he was the perfect fit for this task.
The Job Description & Solution
When Theran arrived at Henry’s home, he found that Jemena had recently replaced a leaking gas regulator. However, upon further inspection and soapy water testing of all appliances and external gas connections, it was discovered that there was still a leak inside the home.
Despite thorough testing and inspection, Theran was unable to locate the source of the leak. This is when we decided to bring in a specialized leak detection contractor who located the leak behind a wall where there was an non-compliant gas bayonet point installed in the hallway.
To solve this issue, we needed to delete the bayonet point and adjust pipework within the ceiling due to its location next to a doorway. After discussing with Henry about our findings and proposed solution, he accepted our plan of action.
We proceeded with deleting the tee fitting feeding this appliance point and installing an elbow connection instead. Once everything was reinstated properly according to safety standards, we tested for any leaks again which passed successfully.
