Upon inspection, Joshua discovered that it was not just a simple blockage but rather a whole house blockage caused by tree root ingress. To rectify the issue and ensure proper functioning of the drain, he proposed the following solution:
- Gaining access to the sewer line through an inspection opening under the house
- Using high pressure jetting and CCTV inspection to identify three sections of tree root ingress in the main sewer line
- Excavation and repair at three different depths – approximately 600mm deep, 1000mm deep, and complimentary excavation at 400mm deep
- Cutting out damaged sections of pipe and replacing them with new pipework and fittings
- Installing directional inspection openings for future access
- CCTV inspecting the rest of drain for any other issues that may require further works
- Note: The scope of works will be provided after initial repairs are completed.
