Case Study: Solving a Blocked Toilet for Maree in Mermaid Waters

The Job Description & Solution
Upon arrival at Maree’s home, Chad investigated the blocked toilet by using jetting and CCTV from the gulley. After thorough inspection, he found that there was no blockage in the toilet line itself. However, he noticed that there was water being held underneath the garden shed which was affecting airflow.
To solve this issue, Chad removed the toilet and CCTV sewer line from the gulley and installed a new AAV (Air Admittance Valve). He then tested the toilet again but still found an issue with airflow. Upon further investigation using cameras, he located a fitting holding water just before the main line.
To fix this problem completely, dig up works were required. Our team removed all tools and materials from under the garden shed and carefully excavated 1.5 meters deep into the ground. They cut out a section of pipework and used CCTV to check if it connected properly to the main line.
After ensuring everything was in order, they supplied and installed new pipework bringing it up to surface level. The hole was backfilled carefully while making sure not to damage any surrounding areas such as pavers or plants. Once everything was completed successfully, our team cleaned up after themselves leaving no mess behind.
