The anode showed signs of corrosion and rust on top, causing small explosions within the tank. Furthermore, the current temperature setting was below 50°C – which is not recommended – and there was also a leak in the TPR valve.
Zavier provided John with various options to address these issues while ensuring compliance with Australian standards. After discussing them thoroughly with him, they agreed on the following scope of works:
- Disconnecting and removing the old solar hot water system along with all half-inch copper pipework and valves
- Safely disposing of the old unit
- Supplying and installing a new 315 L Thurman solar hot water system complete with new pump copper work and compliant valve work such as TPR valve, CWE valve, PV valve non-return valve,and tempering valve set at 50°C
- Providing a new poly pizza base for the tank
- Lagging all necessary pipework and valves to ensure energy efficiency
- Testing and commissioning the tank for any leaks
- Testing and commissioning the pump to ensure proper functioning
- Hiring an electrician to disconnect and reconnect the system, including connecting the pump to the existing solar line and safety switch/breaker at the switchboard.
- Offering an eight-year warranty on our product along with a lifetime warranty on workmanship.
