Case Study: Hot Water System Replacement in Charlestown
Ella, a resident of Charlestown (2290), recently contacted Reactive Plumbing & Electrical after noticing that her hot water system was not delivering hot water. She found us through our Newcastle Magnet ad and decided to give us a call for assistance.
Assigned Technician: Theran
Upon receiving Ella’s call, we immediately assigned our experienced technician, Theran, to the job. With years of experience in plumbing and electrical services, we knew he would be the perfect fit for this particular task.
Job Description & Solution
Theran arrived at Ella’s residence and began investigating the issue with her hot water system. He found that she had a 250L 2009 model which had not been serviced regularly. Upon further inspection, it was discovered that the system had ruptured and was leaking rusty water onto the electrics of the tank.
After discussing repair options with Ella, she agreed to have a Rheem 250L replacement installed along with new required valves. However, there were additional issues that needed to be addressed as well – the isolation valve at the water heater did not work properly and incoming water pressure was excessive at 900kpa.
To ensure proper functioning of the new hot water system and prevent any future issues, Theran also installed a 500kpa pressure regulating valve at the water meter. He then proceeded to disconnect and drain out Ella’s existing system before disposing it offsite.
The new hot water system was then supplied and installed in its original location by Theran himself. He also took care of installing new pipework and required valves before filling the tank and flushing out any air. Finally, he reinstated the power supply and ensured that the system had begun heating properly.
