Hello, my name is Theran and I am a service technician at Reactive Plumbing & Electrical. Recently, we received a call from Michelle in the suburb of Swansea (2281) who was experiencing issues with her blocked toilet and laundry. She found us through our Newcastle Magnet ad and decided to give us a call.
The Assignment
Upon receiving the call, our team quickly assessed the situation and assigned me to handle the job. As an experienced plumber with years of experience under my belt, I was confident that I could provide an effective solution for Michelle’s blocked drain issue.
The Job Description
When I arrived at Michelle’s home, she explained that both her toilet and laundry were not draining properly. After conducting an initial inspection, it was clear that there was a blockage somewhere in the pipes leading to these areas.
I informed Michelle about our $149 blocked drain special which she gladly accepted. This allowed me to proceed with further investigation without any additional costs for her.
I located the vent and basin stack on the left-hand rear side of her home using CCTV downstream technology. The blockage was approximately 8 meters downstream of the vent and 3 meters downstream of her laundry area.
The Solution
To clear out the blockage effectively, I used high-pressure jetting techniques which proved successful in restoring proper flow within minutes. Upon further inspection using CCTV technology again, it was determined that tree roots were causing the blockage.
I made sure to thoroughly check all areas connected to this pipe system by pushing down my camera up to 25 meters downstream but found no other blockages. I informed Michelle about the cause of the issue and recommended regular maintenance to prevent any future problems.
Michelle was pleased with our efficient and effective solution, especially since she has future plans for her property which may require further repairs in the plumbing system. However, at this stage, no additional repairs were requested.
