The Job Description:
Kate’s hot water system was leaking in the rear yard of her home. Upon inspection, Theran found that the system was 12 years old and irreparably ruptured. Further investigation revealed that there was no pressure regulating valve installed, which could have contributed to the failure as the incoming water pressure was non-compliant at 700kpa.
Solution:
- Theran presented Kate with various options for replacement systems based on her budget and needs.
- Kate accepted Rheem Stellar 160L stainless steel system along with all required valves.
- Theran sourced all necessary materials for the installation process.
- The old system was disconnected, drained, and disposed of properly by our team.
- A new Rheem 160L system was supplied and installed in the same location as per Kate’s request.
- New isolation and tempering valves were also installed at the water heater to ensure proper functioning of the new system.
- To regulate incoming water pressure, a new 500kpa pressure regulating valve was supplied and installed at the water meter.
- All necessary pipework and electrical connections were made by our team.
- The circuit was energized, and as the system was on an off-peak tariff, it would begin heating overnight.
Our team provided Kate with a 12-year warranty on the new hot water system for her peace of mind. She was also given instructions on how to properly maintain the system to ensure its longevity.
