Case Study: Solving a Blocked Sewer for Anne in Adamstown

The Job Description and Solution:
Upon arrival at Anne’s property, Adam conducted a thorough inspection and found that gully and floor wastes were backing up. This indicated a blockage in the sewer line. In order to properly address the issue, it would be necessary to remove the toilet so that jet blasting and CCTV could be performed on the sewer line.
After completing these tasks, an after-works report revealed that water was still holding in the pipework despite jet blasting being carried out. To further investigate this issue, Adam used CCTV and locator equipment to locate a shaft on the property. Upon opening this shaft, it was discovered that there was a reflux valve installed but water continued to hold within the pipes.
Further CCTV inspection showed backfalling before joining with the strata common line which caused blockages at the reflux valve. This meant that regular maintenance would need to be carried out on this particular section of pipe in order to prevent future blockages from occurring.
