The Job Description & Solution
Theran arrived at Devi’s home and began his investigation into the low water pressure on her hot supply. After thorough inspection, he discovered that the isolation and pressure limiting valves at her water heater were over 40 years old while the system itself was only 10 years old.
To further assess the situation, Theran also measured the cold water pressure to Devi’s home and found it to be at 550kpa. He then presented various options for repairs to Devi who ultimately accepted replacing both valves with newer models – an isolation valve at her water heater and a pressure regulating valve at her meter.
To begin solving this issue, Theran first isolated the water supply before adjusting pipework at the meter. He then installed a new 500kpa pressure regulating valve which would ensure consistent water flow throughout Devi’s home. Next, he adjusted more pipework and removed any existing failing valves before installing a brand new isolation valve specifically designed for use with hot water systems.
After completing the job, Theran thoroughly tested the water pressure and flow to ensure everything was working perfectly. To give Devi peace of mind, we also provided a 5-year warranty on both valves for any future issues that may arise.
