Case Study: Solving a Sink Mixer Dilemma for Janelle in Hamilton

Assigning the Right Technician for the Job
As soon as we received Janelle’s call, our team immediately got into action mode. We knew that this was an urgent matter for her and wanted to provide a quick solution. That’s why we assigned Theran, one of our most skilled service technicians, to handle the job.
The Job Description & Solution
Janelle explained that she needed someone to investigate her sink mixer as it was not functioning properly. Upon arrival at her home, Theran carefully inspected the sink mixer and determined that it needed replacement due to wear and tear over time.
In addition to replacing the sink mixer, Theran also measured the water pressure in Janelle’s home and found that it was unregulated at the water meter with incoming pressure of 500kpa. This high pressure could potentially cause damage not only to the new tap but also other plumbing within her home.
To ensure proper functioning of the new tap and protect Janelle’s plumbing system, Theran recommended installing a pressure regulating valve at the water meter. He explained how this would help regulate water flow throughout her home while honoring warranty on the new tap. Janelle agreed to the installation of the valve and also opted for a customer-supplied sink mixer.
Theran then proceeded to isolate the water supply to Janelle’s home before removing the existing emergency stop taps. He replaced them with new ones and installed the customer-supplied sink mixer. Once everything was in place, he reinstated the water supply and tested it thoroughly to ensure there were no leaks or issues.
