The Job Description & Solution

Upon arrival at Melinda’s home, Theran investigated the ruptured hot water system and found that the tank had burst and was irreparable. He presented Melinda with various options for replacement tanks and valves, explaining each option in detail so she could make an informed decision.

Melinda accepted the installation of a new 250L Rheem hot water system today, along with an upgrade of valves and pipework to meet required standards. To begin the process, Theran isolated the water supply to Melinda’s home before cutting the pipework at the water meter to allow for installation of a 500kpa pressure regulating valve.

Theran then installed the valve and connections at the water meter before disconnecting and draining Melinda’s old tank. All waste materials were disposed offsite by Reactive Plumbing & Electrical as part of our commitment to leaving every job site clean and tidy.

The new 250L Rheem was installed in the same location as Melinda’s previous tank, along with a required tempering valve at the heater. New pipework was also installed and lagged to suit, ensuring the system was up to standard. Theran then filled the tank and checked for any leaks before connecting the electrical components.

Upon completion of the job, Theran tested the new hot water system to ensure it was functioning properly. He also informed Melinda that her new tank comes with a 12-year warranty and will require a service every 5 years for optimal performance.
