Case Study: Solving Low Water Pressure and Leaking Hot Water System for Janette in Warners Bay
Introduction:
Janette, a resident of Warners Bay (2282), contacted Reactive Plumbing & Electrical after experiencing low water pressure in her shower. She found us through our Newcastle Magnet ad and was impressed by our range of plumbing services.
Assigned Technician:
Our experienced technician Theran was assigned to the job due to his expertise in diagnosing and solving plumbing issues. With years of experience under his belt, Theran is known for providing efficient solutions to complex problems.
The Job Description & Solution:
Upon arrival at Janette’s home, Theran investigated the low flow issue through the showerhead. He found that it was the only fixture affected by this problem. To get to the root cause, he measured the water pressure and inspected the hot water system.
Theran discovered that the water pressure was excessively high, above allowable limits for warranty purposes. Additionally, he noticed that Janette’s hot water system was 16 years old and leaking. The tank had rusted over time and was now leaking onto its electrics.
After presenting repair options to Janette, she agreed on installing a 500kpa pressure regulating valve at her water meter along with a new 250L Everhot hot water system. As an added bonus for proceeding with these replacements, we also offered her a complimentary showerhead replacement and VIP membership.
To start off with solving Janette’s low flow issue immediately, Theran replaced her showerhead and installed a pressure regulating valve at her water meter on site. The next step would be replacing her hot water system on Wednesday 18/06/25 at 7am.
On Wednesday morning, our team arrived promptly as scheduled to complete the hot water system replacement process. We started by disconnecting and draining the existing tank, disposing of it offsite. Next, we disconnected the electrics and pipework servicing solar panels, capping them off at the eaves.
We then supplied and installed a new 250L Everhot hot water system along with required pipework and a tempering valve. After filling the system and testing it, we connected the electrics. As this was an off-peak system, it would heat overnight.
