Case Study: Solving Low Hot Water Temperature for Barry in West Wallsend
Barry, a resident of West Wallsend (2286), recently contacted Reactive Plumbing & Electrical after experiencing consistently low hot water temperatures throughout his home. He found us through our Newcastle Magnet ad and was impressed by our reputation as a top-notch plumbing and electrical service provider.
Assigned Technician:
Our experienced technician Theran was assigned to the job due to his expertise in diagnosing and solving issues with hot water systems. With years of experience under his belt, Theran is known for providing efficient and effective solutions to all types of plumbing and electrical problems.
The Job Description:
Upon arrival at Barry’s residence, Theran conducted a thorough investigation into the issue at hand. The client had previously installed a 3-phase Stiebel Eltron unit in 2019 along with a high-performance tempering valve. However, despite these measures, the system was only delivering peak temperatures of 45 degrees Celsius and stabilizing around 35 degrees Celsius.
To determine the cause of this problem, Theran recommended conducting a diagnosis charge to ascertain whether it was an issue with the tempering valve or the unit itself. Barry agreed to this course of action.
The Solution:
After disconnecting the tempering valve from its installation and connecting it temporarily for testing purposes, Theran discovered that even without the valve in place, the system still delivered maximum temperatures of 45 degrees Celsius and stabilized at 35 degrees Celsius. This ruled out any issues with the tempering valve.
Next, he removed the electrical cover on the system to test its operation more closely. It was then revealed that when turning off water supply to the unit, there were internal arks occurring within it.
Based on these findings, we proposed two potential solutions:
– Replacement System: As discussed with Barry, the most viable solution would be to replace the current system with a new one. This would ensure that he has access to consistent and reliable hot water temperatures throughout his home.
– Engaging an Electrician or Stiebel Eltron Service Technician: Alternatively, we could engage an electrician or a Stiebel Eltron service technician to provide further insight into why the system is failing electrically. This option may require additional costs and time but could potentially save Barry from having to invest in a new system.
