The Job Description & Solution
Ethan arrived at Eileen’s home and carried out an investigation on the source of the sewage smell. After thorough inspection, he found that there was a sewer overflow from a drain underneath the house. He gained approval for jet-blasting and CCTV inspection.
Despite several hours of continuous jet-blasting, Ethan could not successfully clear the blockage as it turned out to be collapsed pipework. He provided an onsite price for emergency spot dig repair which Eileen accepted after understanding the scope of works:
- Lay down back plastic and set up equipment
- Excavate in marked area down to collapsed section of pipework and expose
- Cut out collapsed section area and restore flow to drain
- CCTV inspect upstream and downstream sections for any further issues
- Provide a further quote if needed
- Supply and install new PVC pipework and fittings with directional risers
- Test and commission works
- Backfill with correct bedding
Further Works Required
Ethan returned to Eileen’s home to complete the CCTV inspection after the pipework was removed. He found that a large concrete boulder had crushed the pipework, causing the blockage. Upon further inspection, he also discovered three main root intrusion issues downstream.
