Case Study: Solving a Stormwater Blockage in Adamstown

The Job Description & Solution
Luke called us to inspect a potential blockage in his stormwater system. Upon arrival at the site, Max conducted a visual inspection and found that there was indeed a slight blockage in the aerial drainage under the house as it was holding a significant amount of water.
To address this issue, we proceeded with our 149 Block Drain Special service which includes using jet blasters and CCTV cameras to clear any blockages. This allowed us to effectively remove the obstruction from Luke’s stormwater system.
However, during the CCTV inspection after clearing the blockage, we discovered that there was also damage caused by roots penetrating one of the PVC sockets located on the front right-hand corner of Luke’s property. The root was too thick to be removed with our equipment.
In consultation with Luke, we decided on conducting small stormwater repairs at this location. The scope of works included setting up the site for excavation and digging out a 1-metre wide section where we exposed and replaced damaged PVC piping with new ones. We also installed an inspection opening for future inspections and encased it in concrete for added durability. To prevent any sagging, we used blue metal to support the pipes and then backfilled the area, reinstating the grass and landscaping. We also hosed down the front yard area to restore it to its original condition.
Our stormwater works come with a 15-year warranty and include yearly inspections to ensure that our work remains in top-notch condition.
